On the final day of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Cyber Crime Awareness Foundation organized a seminar at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) on Thursday afternoon. Themed “Stay Aware, Be Cyber Smart,” the event was held in the Mechanical Engineering Department’s conference room.
The seminar was chaired by Dr. Md. Robiul Islam Sarkar, Director of Student Welfare and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at RUET. The event’s Chief Guest was newly appointed Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Dr. S. M. Abdur Razzak. Special Guest Dr. Md. Firoz Ali, Assistant Professor and Head of the Mechatronics Department, also attended.
Engr. Junaid Ahmed, Truth Ambassador for the Rajshahi Division of the Cyber Crime Awareness Foundation, presented the keynote. Additionally, Md. Abdul Munem, a member of the Foundation’s Skill Development and Research Cell, joined online as a resource person.
The seminar covered key topics, including the nature of cybercrime, types of cyber offenses, cybercrime statistics in Bangladesh over the past year, preventive measures, complaint procedures, and support for victims. Attendees were also informed about the initiatives and activities organized every October to mark Cybersecurity Awareness Month globally.
