Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh (BDU), emphasized hands-on learning across specialized subjects to enhance practical skills for students. He shared this directive on Saturday, October 26, during an introductory meeting with the university’s faculty, officials, and staff at BDU’s campus in Kaliakair, Gazipur.
Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, the University Treasurer; Registrar Muhammad Ataur Rahman Khan; Chairman of the Educational Technology and Engineering Department Md. Ashrafuzzaman; Chairman of IoT and Robotics Engineering Suman Saha; Acting Chairman of Cyber Security Engineering Rakib Hossain; Acting Chairman of Software Engineering Md. Mashiur Rahman; Acting Chairman of Data Science and Engineering Tanzim Taharat Orpa; Acting Chairman of General Education Sujan Chandra Sutradhar; Women’s Hall Provost Munira Akhtar Lata; Proctor Farzana Akhtar; and Director of Student Welfare Farhana Islam, along with faculty, staff, and employees were present at the meeting.
During his address, the Vice-Chancellor paid tribute to the victims of the student-led mass uprising of July-August, offering prayers for those who lost their lives and extending wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured. A special prayer session was held for the deceased and injured.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Yusuf stressed the importance of dedicated service to students, urging that every effort be made to ensure they enjoy a positive and enriching learning environment, fully equipped for their future careers.
Following the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor conducted introductory sessions with faculty at 11 a.m., staff at 2 p.m., employees at 3 p.m., and student representatives at 4 p.m.
