Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission-BTRC has formed an emergency support team to continue telecommunication services in flooded areas. A monitoring and control room has been opened in the BTRC building located at Agargaon in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, the administrative area of the capital.
A 15-member emergency response team will work from this room to coordinate and provide necessary instructions to operators to ensure uninterrupted network services and rebuild the damaged network. BTRC hotline number 100 will be active 24 hours to contact this team. Also, every person in the team can be contacted directly on their mobile phones.
The response Team has been formed led by BTRC Director General Kazi Mustafizur Rahman. Other members of the team are: Director Md. Golam Razzak; Deputy Directors Dr. Shamsuzzoha, Mohammad Ashraful Alam, SM Afzal Reza and Senior Assistant Directors Engineer Kamrul Hasan, Abdullah Al Amin, Shibli Imtiaz, Amir Hossain, Md Mintu Pramanik and Md Mehdi Hasan.
In addition, Deputy Assistant Director Sheikh Tanbir Ahmad, Md. Shakurul Hasan Amin, Sohag Hossain and Nibas Halder are also included in this team.
