National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) Director General Ziaul Ahsan has been dismissed from the Army. Major General ASM Ridwanur Rahman succeeded him.
This information was given by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday. The press release issued by ISPR’s also informed that, the posting of Lt. Gen. Md. Saiful Alam has been assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Lieutenant General Md. Mojibur Rahman has been posted as GOC Army Training and Doctrine Command; Lt Gen Ahmad Tabrez Shams Chowdhury as Quartermaster General of Army, Lt Gen Mizanur Rahman Shamim as Chief of General Staff of Army, and Lt Gen Mohammad Shahinul Haque has been posted as Commandant-NDC.
Earlier in 2022, General Ziaul Ahsan was deputed as the first Director General of NTMC and assigned to the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Ziaul Ahsan was promoted from Brigadier General to Major General in July of that year. On July 21, a letter was sent to the Ministry of Public Administration to appoint him as Director General of NTMC through a notification. Before that, he served as the Director of the center.
NTMC has been working round the clock for ensuring the security of digital Bangladesh through identifying the cyber criminals all over the world and providing all kinds of IT support to the law enforcement and intelligence agencies of the country.
