Online case tracking system was inaugurated on Sunday in continuation of the commitment of the law and judiciary department to provide fast and smooth service of cases through digital method. Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque inaugurated the online case tracking system ” Soltrack ” developed by the Department of Law and Justice at the Judicial Administration Training Institute in Dhaka in the morning. And this platform was developed by Deputy Secretary (Additional District and Sessions Judge) Law and Justice Department AKM Kamal Uddin.
In the opening ceremony, Law Minister Anisul Haque said that the Solicitor Division of the Department of Law and Judiciary conducts and manages their cases in both divisions of the Bangladesh Supreme Court on behalf of all government institutions. In many cases government offices are not aware of the current status of their cases. Through this case tracking system they can easily know the updated information of the case. By doing this, the concerned government offices can take the necessary steps at the earliest. As a result, it will be possible to keep the government interest intact in the cases pending in the high court. A relationship of trust will be established through liaison with the Solicitors Division of the Law and Judiciary Department with other departments of the Government. On the other hand, this step will help to a great extent to build the smart Bangladesh of the Prime Minister’s dream.
While speaking as the Chief Guest, he also said that one of Bangabandhu’s dreams was to ensure the rule of law at all levels and the highest service to the people in the state system of independent Bangladesh. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is successfully implementing the cherished dream of Bangabandhu by delivering services to the doorstep of the people through the use of information technology.
E-Judiciary will soon see the light of day
He expressed hope that the project will see the light of day soon due to the direct supervision and advice of Honorable Advisor to the Prime Minister on ICT Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
He said that the implementation of public-friendly ‘e-registration’ program in the country’s land registration and the inter-connection of the office of the Assistant Commissioner (Land) with the Sub-Registrar’s office was a long-cherished dream of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. To realize this dream, Sub-Registrar Office and Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Office have already been inter-connected by keeping them under their respective administrative jurisdiction. From June 10, 2021 to February 28, 2023, a total of sixty-four thousand five hundred twenty-two documents have been registered in the e-registration system in the said 17 sub-registry offices. The rest of the sub-registry offices in the country will be similarly taken up with the e-registration process. Further, to digitize the marriage registration process across the country, the Department of Law and Justice has taken up a project through which every Nikah Registrar will input all the marriage registration information online and the parties can collect Kabinnama and other documents online. This online portal will store the information of genuine Nikah Registrars. As a result, transparency in the marriage registration process will be ensured.
The Secretary of Law and Justice Department Md. Golam Sawar presided over the event while the Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain as special guest said that, the government will win most of the cases if the government cases are presented properly. But the reality is just the opposite. In most cases, the government loses. After losing, the government appeals and then there is some running around and blaming each other. He expressed hope that the “Soltrack ” software developed by the Department of Law and Justice would create an opportunity to break out of the culture of blaming each other.
