The Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB), an organization for journalists’ held its annual general meeting and executive committee elections. Mohammad Kawsar Uddin of Daily News has been re-elected as the President of the Executive Committee for the term of 2023-24 and Mursalin Haque Junaid of Channel 24 has been re-elected as the General Secretary.
The executive committee of the organization for the term 2023-24 was constituted after the Annual General Meeting on Friday (February 24) at the conference hall of Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) in the capital. A new executive committee is elected based on the suggestions and support of the members.
Others on the committee are Vice-President (Member Welfare) Rishad Hasan (ATN News), Vice-President (Gov. & Corporate Relations) Kumar Biswajit Roy (Bangladesh Television), Vice-President (International Relations) Maidul Islam (NTV), Treasurer Mehdi Hasan Shimul (Baishakhi Television), Organizing Secretary Golam Dastgir Tauhid (Techvision24.com), Publicity and Publications Editor Nazneen Akhter Lucky (NewsNow Bangla.com). Nazmul Hossain (New Horizon) and Md. Rahim Sheikh (Janakantha) are elected as the E xecutive Members.
Dean of Engineering and Technology Faculty of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Hasan Babu served as the Chief Election Commissioner in the election while Faruk Mehdi, deputy editor of Ajker Patrika and Masud Rumi, business editor of the Kaler Kantha, served as election commissioners.
Before the election, outgoing committee general secretary Mursaleen Haque Junaid presented the detailed activities of the organization last year and Treasurer Russell Mahmud presented the last year’s financial report in the annual general meeting. The report was then passed by unanimous decision of the members. Later, TMGB President Mohammad Kawsar Uddin highlighted the success of the last one year. Besides, the Chairman of TMGB Board of Trustees Muhammad Khan highlighted the rules of the election.
