Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam said, “The language movement of 1952 was the cradle of all Bengali independence movements. After the partition of 1947, Pakistanis first targeted our language. Bengalis had to give blood that day to demand to speak in their mother tongue on 11th February. Since then we got the confidence to give blood. In 1971 we gained independence through another bloody struggle under the leadership of Bangabandhu. The government has made a law to promote Bengali language at all levels. But it is being disrupted everywhere. Currently, satellite television and social media are the most prevalent language distortions. The role of technology in the proper use of Bengali on the Internet is undeniable. Bengali language can be introduced to the younger generation through various mobile applications. That is why engineers should be included in the activities of Bangla Academy. Finally, I call on everyone to dedicate them to building a smart Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, embracing the spirit of Ekushey– the language movement of 1952. “
