Digital Bangladesh Mela 2023 has confirmed that smart citizen, smart society will be the driving force of smart economy and maximum use of technology. Where transactions will be done without money, communication will be done without SIM and all kinds of activities will be done without paper.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the three-day fair in a video message on Thursday. Minister of Education Dr. Deepu Moni was there at the opening ceremony. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar’s voice was to build a new proud Bangladesh, where Bangladesh will be ahead in speed competition.
The institutions from the Digital Bangladesh Fair said that in 2041, the country will reach the threshold of success enviable by the modern world. Uninterrupted connectivity and services in education, healthcare and entertainment will be guaranteed from the marginal stage to the city. Factories will have one stop solutions along with automation. In this case, technology will play a controlling role.
Mobile Congress was held for the first time in the country on the second day of the fair. On this day, 4 seminars were held on the use of mobile network. Meanwhile, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman stressed on the early warning of disasters to the people and the administration. At the same time, VHF, HF radio, drones, satellite phones, e-GSM in coastal areas and mapping of shelters are helpful in dealing with disasters.
Discussions about the 5th Industrial Revolution and 5G infrastructure have brought up the need to acquire skills and learn to use digital devices and applications. In a seminar on data science, robotics and artificial intelligence, Minister for Science and Information Technology Yeafesh Osman emphasized creating public awareness.
At the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ seminar, everyone including Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi raised the voice of creating new markets in the country through innovation. On the last day, the seventh seminar was held on the role of the state in building a safe digital society. He called for reasonable application of digital law for digital security.
It is called to give importance to digital innovation in delivering full citizen benefits to a large population like Bangladesh.

Department of Posts and Telecommunications is the main organizer of Digital Bangladesh Fair Fair. The Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh- ISPAB was the Implementation Associate of the fair. Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing- BACCO also participated in task. Huawei was the titanium sponsor of the fair. While ZTE Corporation was the Diamond Sponsor.

Students got acquainted with all the latest technologies of the digital fair with great interest and wonder. In the Experience Zone, children were introduced to VR, artificial intelligence robots, digital classrooms.
In virtual reality, they experienced Safari Pak, Sahara desert or entering the age of dinosaurs from the fair. The newcomers were immersed in the state of new innovations with high-speed internet, modern devices.
While addressing as the chief guest at the closing ceremony in the evening, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mustafa Jabbar, said that as a result of the Prime Minister’s visionary thinking and its implementation, the benefits of digitalization are being obtained even in remote areas. Broadband internet has come under the reach of remote villages from Haor. Now our aim is to bring high speed internet.
He also said that even from a village like Madhupur, today the youth can earn 4 thousand dollars; which is unthinkable. Government is always on the side of innovators. Due to their all kind of support they have got so much recognition in the world today.
Chairman of BTRC Shyam Sundar Sikdar, MD of ZTE Corporation Bangladesh Liu Liang and Member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Rizwan Ahmed Taufiq were present as special guests in the event . The event was presided over by the Department of Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman.
In the closing ceremony, the winners of Best Stall, Best Young Student in Drawing Competition and Essay Competition were awarded. Also, for the first time, 18 individuals and institutions were awarded the Postal and Telecommunication Medal.
