87 poor students of Krishnapur Adarsh High School in Narsingdi district got the opportunity to visit the National Museum of Science and Technology and learnt some scientific lessons for free. Also, the Museum authorities felicitated 8 people who achieved SSC examination (GPA-5) of this institution. Various gifts including valuable calculators were given them as gifts.
For a long time, Science Museum has been recognizing and awarding students of various educational institutions in recognition of innovation in science and technology. As a part of that, the disadvantaged students living in remote areas of Krishnapur Adarsh High School in distant Narsingdi which is 100 km away from Dhaka were invited on an educational tour. These students, deprived of the light of science education, have never seen a science museum. Realizing the importance of the matter, the science museum on Tuesday offered these 87 students of the educational institution the opportunity to visit the science museum free of charge and gain knowledge from various exhibits of science. The students of the educational institution were excited to get this opportunity.
In this context, Director General of National Science and Technology Museum, Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, said, “The science museum is creating opportunities for science education everywhere, regardless of rich, poor or advanced-underdeveloped areas, in order to make science education available to marginalized people. This will help the government in building a digital Bangladesh and will embody the spirit of equality and equality as stated in the constitution.”
