Although there is a huge demand in the industries, manpower is not available according to the needs of the industry. As a result, as the number of educated unemployed is increasing day by day, the shortage of skilled workers is also becoming evident in industrial establishments. Md. Jasim Uddin, the president of FBCCI, the top organization of businessmen, commented that it is necessary to modernize the teaching method in line with the industry in transition from this situation.
He made this comment while speaking as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the BD Job’s job fair organized at the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology-BUBT campus in Mirpur, on Tuesday (January 10).
More than 40 reputed organizations of national and international level participated in this job fair organized at BUBT campus. Career Guidance Office of BUBT and BdJobs jointly organized this fair.
Md. Jasim Uddin said, our economy is now around 460 million, which is increasing every day. As a result, the demand for skilled manpower is increasing with the expansion of our economy. There is no alternative to specialized education systems to meet the fourth industrial revolution and meet the growing demand for skilled manpower.
He also said that if skilled people are sent abroad, their income will double. And for the formation of skilled manpower, changes should be made in the curriculum along with the training institute. Training institutes led by National Skill Development Authority – NSD should be made more effective.
