In colleges affiliated to National University, ICT courses are being made compulsory in honors first year and soft skills in third year from the next academic year. The decision was taken at the 96th meeting of the Academic Council at the Senate Hall of the National University in Gazipur on Thursday (December 15). Besides, it has been decided to start 19 short courses from the next academic year.
These are: Data Analysis, Archive and Records Management, Project Management, Responsive Web Design, Customer Service Specialist, Accounting Management Systems, Performing Arts and Drama, Entrepreneurship, Graphic Design and Animation, Disaster Risk Reduction, Food and Beverage Service Management, Human Resources. Management, Solar Power Technology, Waste Management, Digital Marketing, Blue Economy, Mental Health First Aid, Content Writing, Sports Management.
These courses will be open at Honors and Degree levels. Students can do it according to their choice.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Moshiur Rahman said, our aim is to ensure a radical change in the lives of 35 lakh students. We have decided to introduce new courses that are timely to prepare the students to meet the challenges of modern times. Colleges have decided to make ICT and soft skills compulsory for students. Besides, more new short courses will be launched. Students can develop themselves by learning these courses.
Minutes of the meeting of the 95th Academic Council were approved in the meeting. Besides, published results of various examinations were approved. On the other hand, the academic council meeting approved the recommendation to amend the law college teacher appointment policy.
