The Liberation War Museum authorities have rendered an opportunity to know the history of the liberation struggle of Bangladesh, about half a century back. The virtual part of the Liberation War Museum located in Agargaon of the capital has been launched. Therefore, the liberation war museum now can be visited from any part of the world by going to the web address without being present physically.
The Liberation War Museum website has six sections. In the second step there is the tab called Virtual Tour. After selecting the tab, you will see three different icons. Each icon has different options.
Through the virtual tour tab, everything in the museum can be seen at home in 3 minutes and 28 seconds at a 360-degree angle. Apart from this, there is an opportunity to see the entire museum through Virtual Reality (VR). The museum has four separate icons for four different galleries. By clicking on those icons, virtual visitors will see four galleries separately.
Ascending the main staircase of the museum, one can see a circular tank with a flame burning in the middle. Then in Gallery 1 we will see ‘Our Heritage, Our Struggle’ where there are statues of the British era, muslin cloths and various traces of the history of the British rule. Paintings and descriptions of the Battle of Palashi.
Gallery 2 has ‘Our Rights, Our Abandonment’, this gallery has the costumes of the then Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmad, Finance and Planning Minister Captain M Mansoor Ali and many others with hats. There is also a jeep used by Pakistanis in 1971.
Gallery 3 will feature ‘Our War, Our Allies’. Where there is a car used in 1971. There is also a radio transmitter used in the liberation war, which was used to listen to the news of different radio stations around the world and select the important news, which was broadcast on Bangladesh Betar. There are also some pictures of ‘Concert for Bangladesh’.
Gallery 4 features ‘Our Victory, Our Values’. The boat used by naval commando Shahjahan Siddiqui is kept here. There is his identity card and clothes. There is a battle prep map of a place called Bilonia. 7.12 mm semi-automatic rifles and other types of guns. Parachute is not excluded. There is Bangabandhu’s Punjabi and Koti.
