The Vice Chancellor of the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam said, “December 16 is the most glorious day in our Bengali history. It may take us less time to achieve this victory. But had to sacrifice the most. Such sacrifice of life for freedom is very rare in the world. Even after half a century of victory, we have failed to fulfill the real objective of independence. Anti-independence and reactionary groups are still active in halting the country’s progress. But under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is now moving forward towards a golden Bengal. Honorable Prime Minister has gifted us digital Bangladesh. Now, she has announced the vision of Smart Bangladesh to move forward with the 4th industrial revolution. Our engineering universities should play a pioneering role in building this Smart Bangladesh. Capitalizing on the crisis of the current global economic recession, a reactionary group continues to exploit digital technology in the virtual world. Our educated society has to play a direct role in this regard.”
