A session on ‘Science and Ethics in Preventing Electricity Theft and Waste’ was held today Thursday (22 September 2022) at the National Science and Technology Museum. 80 trainees of the 13th basic training course of Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) participated in the event.
While presenting the keynote at the seminar, Director General of National Science and Technology Museum Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said, “Science and technology have come a long way, parallel to technology there are many improvements but corruption is a challenge. When a man is enslaved by machines, man’s moral power will diminish. The success of the technology depends on whether the person using the technology is honest and pure. Or corruption cannot be curbed even with the use of technology. God has given man infinite working power and thinking ability, the purpose of human life is to use it for human welfare.”
Superintendent Engineer of DPDC Md. Mohiul Alam spoke as a special guest at the event.
He highlighted the use of modern technology and the activities of Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) in the national context to prevent electricity theft and wastage. After the program, the trainees visited the galleries of the museum in a joyful atmosphere. Besides, the incoming trainees were given souvenirs by the science museum.
