Bangladesh Railway’s new mobile app ‘Rail Sheba’ was unveiled on Wednesday. This app was created and managed by Shohoz-Synesis-Vinsen JV, a ticketing partner of Bangladesh Railway. From now on, train passengers will be able to buy train tickets using Bangladesh Railway’s e-ticket website as well as the ‘Rail Sheba’ app. Railway Minister Md. Nurul Islam Sujan inaugurated the ‘Rail Sheba’ app.
The new ‘Rail Sheba’ app is currently available on Google Play. To buy tickets, passengers need to download the app and register with their name, mobile number, email address, national identity card / birth registration number, etc. However, if a passenger has already registered on the e-ticket website of Bangladesh Railway, then he does not have to register a second time. Only login with mobile number and password.
To book a ticket using the ‘Rail Sheba’ app, the passenger has to select the starting station, destination station, train class and date of departure of his choice. At the same time you can easily see the details of the train from ‘Train Details’. You can then select the bogie and seat of your choice from the available train and deduct the ticket through online payment (debit / credit card or MFS). Through this e-ticket will be sent to the registered email of the passenger. At the same time, passengers will be able to download from the e-ticket app at their convenience.
For the convenience of the passengers, various features have been added to the navigation bar of the ‘Rail Sheba’ app. There is a facility to easily verify the ticket from the ‘Verify Tickets’ tab. Also, old and upcoming trip details can be seen up to 7 days through ‘My Tickets’. Passengers will be able to update their information and password at the time of registration through the ‘My Accounts’ tab.
The inaugural function was held at the Jamuna Conference Hall of Railway Building. Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir, Secretary, Ministry of Railways and Mr. Dhirendra Nath Majumder, Director General, Bangladesh Railway were present as the president and special guest respectively.
