State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak laid the foundation stone of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center in Narayanganj on Sunday afternoon by flying balloons in the cloudless sunny sky. Narayanganj-4 MP AKM Shamim Osman presided over the function. Senior Secretary of ICT Department NM Zeaul Alam, Deputy Commissioner Md. Manjurul Hafeez, Managing Director of Hitech Park Authority Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Managing Director of Bangladesh Diesel Plant Limited Syed Rafiqul Islam and Sheikh Kamal I.T. Training and Incubation Center Director AKM Abdullah Khan were present on the occasion.
Speaking as the chief guest, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that Narayanganj city became famous for its jute business in the nineteenth century due to its improved communication system. Narayanganj was once known as the ‘Dandy of the East’ and Adamji Jute Mill, the largest jute mill in the world, was established in 1950. I believe that with the establishment of skilled manpower and big IT industry through this Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center, Narayanganj will be developed as the Silicon Valley of the East.
Noting that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set a world record in digital meetings, she added that many have asked us to learn from Sri Lanka. But this is the situation in Sri Lanka today as there is no efficient and honest leadership like the people’s leader Sheikh Hasina. Due to the weakness in the leadership, Bangladesh, once the champion in corruption for 5 times has turned into a role model for the world under the able leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the people’s leader. Now, the whole world is following Bangladesh today; They are trying to imitate Bangladesh.
On the occasion, on behalf of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, 17 laptops were distributed among the highest earning freelancers under the Learning and Learning Development Project under the ICT Department in Narayanganj.
Speaking on the occasion, Narayanganj-4 MP Shamim Osman said Narayanganj port is known as the largest river port in the country and an important business and trade center. It is also a hub for jute trade and processing and a hub for trade and industry in the country’s textile sector. Due to the presence of many jute mills, it is called Dandy in the East. The traditional business that has been conducted in Narayanganj for so long is now ready to contribute to the IT industry by creating new entrepreneurs in the information and communication technology sector by building our students as skilled manpower in IT. Today we are very happy to lay the foundation stone of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center in Narayanganj.
In his welcome speech, the managing director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (Grade-1) Dr. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh said, the Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority is setting up Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers in 64 districts of the country to create skilled human resources in the IT sector as per the directions of the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
