The Bangladesh Computer Council held a meeting with its stakeholders on Tuesday to expedite the delivery of high-capacity internet services at the union level. This was the 15th coordination meeting on the implementation of the third phase of the Info Government project. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak was the chief guest at the meeting.
Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director Dr. Abdul Mannan presided over the meeting. In the meeting, the progress of the project implementation and the work yet to do was explained to the state minister by Dr. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh as the Project Director.
ICT Department Senior Secretary NM Zeaul Alam, BTCL Managing Director Dr. Rafiqul Matin, Managing Director of Fiber at Home Brigadier General (Retd.) Md. Rafiqur Rahman, MD and CEO of Summit Communications Limited Arif Islam, Director General of PPP Authority Md. Abul Bashar, CEO Sultana Afroz, Secretary General of IIG Forum Ahmed Junaid and others were connected online.
At the meeting, the state minister called upon the stakeholders to play a more active role in setting up fiber cable network in each union as soon as possible before next year as part of the implementation of ‘My Village, My City’ vision.
