Once you get off the rickshaw, you don’t have to look for money in your wallet. Rickshaw rental can be paid from the phone in hand. Rickshaw drivers do not have to worry about rent. Trust Axiata Pay-TAP has opened a new horizon in small transactions. Initially, the new mobile service was launched in Dhanmondi area of the capital.
The pilot project, which involved 300 rickshaws in the Dhanmondi area of the capital, was inaugurated on Saturday (January 8) by Humaira Azam, managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of Trust Bank and director of Trust Axiata Digital Limited.
As part of the new project, 300 rickshaw pullers have been given a card with a QR code. Passengers will be able to rent the rickshaw driver’s TAP wallet by scanning with the tap app. With the launch of this new service, rickshaw pullers will get an additional bonus of Tk 10 per TAP with the fare of each passenger. They can cash it out from any TAP agent. Passengers will also get 10% cashback by paying on TAP. This offer will continue till January 22, 2022 (15 days).
On the occasion, Humaira Azam, Director, Trust Axiata Digital Limited, said, “TAP has taken this initiative to bring digital financial services to the grassroots level. We are hopeful that this initiative will play a helpful role in building a digital Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
