The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Business Disability Network (BBDN) to expedite the inclusion of persons with physical disabilities in the IT sector.
BASIS Senior Vice President Farhana A. Rahman and BBDN CEO Murtaza Rafi Khan signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations at the BASIS office on Saturday, November 7.
BASIS and BBDN will continue to work through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to include people with disabilities in BASIS member organizations, take up skills development programs, and increase the confidence of people with disabilities, BASIS said on Sunday, November 7. It will play an important role in facilitating the creation of new jobs for people with physical disabilities as well as providing policy support to its members, the wider business community and the government in providing a suitable working environment and setting its standards.
BBDN can be a strategic partner of BASIS in conducting disability inclusion activities, and BASIS members are committed to working together to achieve the UN-declared Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, as well as being an inclusive organization. With these in mind, BASIS and BBDN are expected to take up various short-term, medium-term and long-term programs in the future.
