Russian actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko flew to the International Space Station for the first time to capture scenes for the film ‘The Challenge’.
Yulia is a physician in the movie.
She flew to the space station on Tuesday to save the life of an astronaut .
They arrived at the International Space Station on Wednesday afternoon, local time in Moscow.
They are accompanied by two other professional astronauts on the 12-day space mission of Peresild and Shipenko. They are Oleg Novitsky and Piotr Dubrov. They will also be seen in the movie.
According to a Reuters report, Russia overtook the United States in the competition to make a space film through this mission.
Last year, NASA announced that actor Tom Cruise would go into space with a SpaceX rocket for a Hollywood movie. However, the name of the movie has not been decided yet.
Russia’s space operations have been stagnant for years due to accidents and corruption scandals. But “The Challenge” pulled Russia out of that place, analysts say.
