This time Bangladesh is focusing on exporting technology based services to Central Asia. The Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology plans to use Uzbekistan as a gateway to reach the destination.
State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak made the remarks at an exchange of views at the International Business Center in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
The meeting was held on Monday evening local time. In the meeting, Palak presented the picture of various advances in the field of information technology. He also invited a delegation of Uzbek businessmen to see the possibility of foreign investment in Bangladesh.
The Uzbek business delegation was led by Ikramov Adkham Ilkhamovich, chairman of the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In his speech, Ikramov praised the progress of Bangladesh’s information technology sector and discussed in detail the areas of joint work for development and growth, including investment and trade in the sector.
The meeting was attended by Laziz Kudratov, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, Jasurbek Koryev, Deputy Minister of Communications, and Ilkhom Khaydarov, Chairman of UztextileProm.
The Bangladesh delegation included PM’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman, FBCCI Vice President MA Razzak Khan, former President Mir Nasir, Bazar Executive Chairman Sheikh Yusuf Harun, Industries Ministry Assistant Secretary Md Jahangir Alam, e-Cab President Shomi Kaiser, BCS President Shahid Ul Munir and many more.
