The government will create a talent pool (IT repository) of people skilled in various fields of information technology. Therefore, the ICT department is developing a platform called BDSkills for selecting qualified and skilled people through examinations in various IT subjects. By entering the platform, IT companies will be able to recruit skilled manpower as per the demand from the talent pool.
The platform named ‘bdskills.gov.bd’, developed by the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) LICT project of the Department of Information and Communication Technology will be inaugurated on June 3.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak presented his views on a PowerPoint presentation on the digital platform ‘BD Skills.gov.bd’ with the aim of creating a talent pool by joining the digital platform on Saturday.
The state minister added that the platform for creating a talent pool should be such that job seekers from different parts of the country can take the aptitude test in various IT subjects.
He said that the platform needs to be developed not only for the present but also for the future. Using the platform, it should contain all the information of the talent pools who have passed the exams in IT subjects like PHP, Laravel, programming, coding and so on. So that any organization can recruit them as per the demand.
According to the program, the process of selection and selection of qualified candidates from application to recruitment is cumbersome, costly and in many cases, it is not possible to select qualified candidates. But the BD Skills.gov.bd platform will complete these tasks and create a talent pool for IT companies and related employers so that they can recruit qualified candidates on-demand.
