BRAC Bank, a publicly-listed commercial bank, has signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) to provide collateral-free loans to its members. The signing ceremony took place on October 31 at BRAC Bank’s headquarters in Gulshan, Dhaka.
On behalf of BASIS, Vice President (Finance) M. Asif Rahman, and BRAC Bank’s DMD and Head of SME Syed Abdul Momen signed the memorandum of understanding.
BASIS President M. Rashidul Hasan, Directors Biplob Ghosh Rahul, Mir Shahroof Islam, Chairperson of BASIS Member Services & Welfare Standing Committee Anisul Haque Bhuiyan, and Executive Officer of BASIS Secretariat S. M. Zakaria Islam were also present at the event.
In his opening speech, BASIS President M. Rashidul Hasan stated, “Our partnership with BRAC Bank opens up new financing opportunities for our members, encouraging innovation and business expansion.”
Syed Abdul Momen, Deputy Managing Director and Head of SME at BRAC Bank, said, “We are pleased to partner with BASIS. Through this MoU, we will provide vital financing for IT entrepreneurs without collateral requirements.”
BASIS Vice President (Finance) M. Asif Rahman added, “This MoU will enable BASIS members to access a specially tailored collateral-free loan, supporting their business growth and strengthening their financial stability.” This collaboration aims to ease access to essential funding for innovation, expansion, and financial resilience, particularly benefiting startups with irregular revenue cycles and accelerating growth for IT entrepreneurs.
