According to the directives of the High Court, the broadcasting of private television channels has been stopped. The satellite channel went off air after 11:59 PM on Monday (August 19). However, the online news portal of the television is active.
Earlier, on Monday afternoon, the High Court bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Shashanka Shekhar decided to shut down the TV for seven days. The judge gave this verdict after the preliminary hearing of a writ filed by Samham Media Limited and its director Shampa Rahman.
After receiving the verdict, Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited (BSCL) implemented the order to stop broadcasting the TV.
