In a new announcement on Saturday, the social media platform X announced the closure of all its operations in Brazil. In view of the censorship order brought by the country’s court, this announcement of the immediate closure of the program was made.
X claims the South American country has threatened to arrest its local representative if the court order is not complied with. The order also ordered the country to remove some of the content on the platform.
Brazilian authorities were not immediately available for comment.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s X platform was also used on Saturday.
