A bilateral MoU has been signed between the Tools and Technology Institute (TTI) of the Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Center (BITAC) under the Ministry of Industry with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET).
The agreement was signed on Monday (September 18) in the Syndicate Room of the university’s Administrative Building, in the presence of the CUET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam. At this time, the BITAC Director Anwar Hossain Chowdhury (Additional Secretary) was present.
Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Dean and Registrar (Additional Duty) of Mechanical Engineering Faculty signed the MoU on behalf of CUET and Md. Jalaluddin, Director (Planning) signed on behalf of BITAC as a representative of their respective organizations.
As witnesses in the agreement, on behalf of CUET the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Head of Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering Professor Dr. Md. Sanaul Rabbi, Head of Department of Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering Dr. Jamal Uddin Ahmed and on behalf of BITAC, the Additional Director Md. Jahangir Alam and Additional Director of BITAC, Pavitra Kumar Kaviraj of TTI Signed the agreement.
Deputy Director (Information and Publication) Mohammad Fazlur Rahman, Assistant Coordinator (Coordination) Muhammad Rashedul Islam and Assistant Registrar (Law and Estate) Mohammad Zobair Hossain were also present at this time.
Under the agreement, for the next five years, the three departments of the mechanical engineering faculty of CUET and the two TTI institutes of BITAK will jointly carry out research and development (R&D), innovation and technology exchange, undertake joint research projects to solve industrial problems, apply technology in production activities, and undertake entrepreneurship development programs, and will benefit through national and international seminars, Symposium organization, industrial attachment of students etc.
