About Tk. 520 crore from ‘Smart Land Development Tax’ system, about Tk. 230 crore from ‘Smart Naamzari’ system and about Tk. 20 crore from ‘Smart Bhumi Records’ system, totaling about Tk. 770 crore has been instantly deposited into the government treasury through the automated challan system. Daily average online revenue is above 5 crore taka.
Lands Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman conveyed this information while speaking as the president at a workshop related to determination of new sectors of non-tax revenue income of the Ministry of Lands in the meeting room of the Ministry of Lands on Monday. He said that the government’s revenue has increased manifold due to digitization of land services.
The Land Secretary also said that under the overall direction of the Prime Minister and under the direct supervision of Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, there have been some unprecedented fundamental changes in land management digitization in the last few years. As a result of this progress, land revenue collection has increased significantly. Apart from ensuring efficient, transparent and people-friendly land service management, the Ministry of Lands will ensure that 100% revenue is efficiently collected from the land sector for public interest.
The workshop was attended by officials of Ministry of Lands, Finance Department and Land Services Digitization Vendor Company.
The participants discussed various areas of revenue growth in the workshop. These include several important aspects, such as digital transfer of land acquisition compensation from IBUS system directly to the land owner’s bank account, online verification of information related to khas land, acquired land and Sayrat Mahal through land data bank, khas land Putting it to productive use without leaving it unused, registration-mutation interconnection, completion of deed writing through automated system by payment of prescribed fee after land registration, creation of land classification and database, ensuring digital monitoring through dashboard; Establishment of Kiosks in Union Land Offices etc. The Ministry of Lands is already implementing most of these proposed applications.
The main sources of revenue derived from land are land development tax, survey and land settlement levy, market, vested property, abandoned property, water lease, pond and sand lease etc.
