Registration for the ‘ Green Earth Quest ‘ competition to raise students’ awareness about the environment has started online from August 1. There are total 30 questions in this quiz. All questions are worth 1 point. All quiz questions are of multiple choice mode. Participants will be asked questions on sustainable environment, pollution reduction, tackling climate change and pollution, moderate and recycling eco-friendly growth, digital skills, everyday science, mathematics, eco-friendliness, sustainable living and language and culture.
Organized by Ethics Advance Technology Limited (EATL), an information technology company in collaboration with the Bangladesh Government and the World Bank, students from any school, madrasa, technical and English medium schools from sixth to tenth grade and college and university level can participate in this competition by forming a team of three.
The champion team will get a prize of taka 3 lakh. The first and second runner-up teams will receive a prize of taka 2 and 1 lakh respectively. The third runner-up will get a prize of taka 50 thousand. Apart from this, the top 16 teams and the winning teams in the online round will also be given various prizes.
The Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar inaugurated the competition’s registration process at Hotel InterContinental in the capital on Monday. While speaking as the Chief Guest, he said, ‘Students must acquire knowledge and skills for healthy, productive lives and secure meaningful employment. These knowledge and skills will help students build a green and sustainable world.’
Former Chief Secretary of Prime Minister’s Office Kamal Abdul Nasser Chowdhury, Senior Operations Officer of World Bank Mokhlesur Rahman, Member of University Grants Commission Prof. Muhammad Alamgir and others also spoke on the occasion.
MA Mubin Khan, Managing Director of EATL, said that the future world will be a competition of knowledge and technology. Apart from teaching in educational institutions, there is no alternative to organize education, sports, and science fairs to create a knowledge-based society. Team participation in the competition will develop leadership among the students. By participating in this competition, students will try to protect the environment and nature.
