This year, the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) was held in Bulgaria. The competition went on from July 1 to July 3. Now the test book evaluation phase is going on. The four participating teams from Bangladesh are looking forward to good results.
Competitors participated in this competition virtually from the office of Bangladesh Education, Research and Entrepreneurship Development Trust (BDEREDT) located in Dhanmondi, Dhaka in two phases individually and as a team. Apart from Bangladesh, 164 teams from more than 40 countries of the world participated virtually in the competition.
In this regard, Academic Coordinator of Bangladesh Mathematics Olympiad Md. Turab Haque Payal said that Rishan An Nafi, a student of Dhaka Residential Model College, Ahan Banik, a student of St. Joseph Higher Secondary College, Aritra Sarkar, a student of Khulna Zilla School, and students of Rajshahi Collegiate School participated in this examination in the upper primary category. Ahbab Zulkifal Jahin, Progressive Model School student Sudipta Debnath, Kushtia Zilla School student Salman Islam Anupam, Ideal School and College student Sakin Al Sadaf, Millennium Stars School and College student S.R. Anub Roy Anuk took part in this competition.
And the academic members of Bangladesh Math Olympiad Md. Mohtasim Fuad and Jyoti Singh are serving as their team leaders and Mohammad Mazedur Rahman and Mohaiminul Islam are serving as faction leaders.
On the other hand, 2 teams participated in lower secondary category: Manami Zaman, a student of Viqarunnessa Noon School and College, Khan Rafiul Islam Lian, a student of Khulna Zilla School, Jayjit Pramanik Joy, a student of Rajshahi Cantonment Public School and College, Abdullah Al Zarif, a student of Bogra Zilla School, Cantonment English School and College. Student Shah Md Taibur Rahman, Mymensingh Zilla School student Tahsin Khan, Saint Joseph Higher Secondary School student Siam Ahmed, Ideal School and College student Jawad Hamim Chowdhury.
Academic members of Bangladesh Math Olympiad Saad Bin Quddus and Atanu Roy Chowdhury are serving as team leaders and Nisarga Nandan and Tahmim Noor Jahin are serving as group leaders.
In addition, Bangladesh Math Olympiad academic coordinator Md. Turab Haque Payal is serving as the coordinator of the Bangladesh team in this competition.
Among other events in the competition was a puzzle competition. The exam ended on Monday. Evaluation is now underway. The final result will be published on July 7.
Bangladesh National Mathematics Olympiad Committee, which was managed by Prothom Alo and sponsored by Dutch Bangla Bank Limited, selected the students based on this year’s selection, regional and national round results and camps.
