Besides introducing smart devices to students of 10 schools and a few upazila schools in the coastal region, JaduPc started working on skill development in Robotics and STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). This program will be conducted jointly with Bangladesh Open Source Network (BDOSN). JaduPc founder Masroor Hannan and BdOSN Chief Executive Officer Kaniz Fatema signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations at Dhanmondi in Dhaka’s today.
About this arrangement, the founder of JaduPc said, “The two institutions will work on technology education, robotics and STEM education with pilot projects along with development of educational materials in various schools. As part of this, work has already been started in 10 selected schools of Bangladesh and three upazilas of the coastal regions. School students will also be taught programming using JaduPc the Magic PC.”
Notably, Bangladesh Open Source Network as a non-profit voluntary organization has been working for a long time to create awareness about STEM education and promote the importance of ICT skills and capabilities for children, youth and women. On the other hand, JaduPc is working to increase the technology skills of the country’s students.
A pilot project will be conducted to introduce and promote open source technology and JaduPc in various schools in the future. In this project, the teachers and students of the respective schools will be trained in smart devices, Internet, selected parts of open source software in accordance with the school curriculum. Besides, various projects in technology education, robotics and stem education will be worked together. JaduPc will also work on BdOSN projects in coastal areas with the support of Malala Fund. Besides, they will work to encourage the use of open source technology by participating in various events, workshops and conferences in joint arrangements, sharing information. This agreement was signed for the next one year period. At that time BdOSN General Secretary Munir Hasan, JaduPc Chief Technical Officer Ragib Ehsan Shadab, BdOSN Project CoordinatorMosharof Hossain Tipu and others were present at the time of signing the MoU.
