Smart employment fair was held under the initiative of Charghat-Bagha upazila administration of Rajshahi to build a career in ICT. There was career guidance in the fair with expertise in various subjects of information technology, computer and online sector. There were 18 stalls; where the participants were able to apply for jobs on the spot by applying for jobs.
On the occasion of the fair, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam handed over a check of Tk. 50,000 to each of 20 smart women at Charghat Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Rajshahi on Sunday (21 May). The ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak accompanied him at the time.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam urged the educated youth to become smart entrepreneurs instead of just chasing jobs.
While speaking as the chief guest, he said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, started the program of Digital Bangladesh in 2009.
Today there has been a great development in the ICT sector of the country. And the ICT sector has played a big role in the progress of Bangladesh from a low-income country to a middle-income country.
Stating that such smart employment fair will open up new horizons of possibilities. Shahriar Alam said, there are 23 stalls in this fair. Their main demand is to create employment for the unemployed youth of Charghat-Bagha Upazila of Rajshahi. However, those who will not get a job in this fair, they will also be trained and job opportunities will be created through various types of training. He mentioned at this time that many people in the country are earning hundreds of thousand taka by training through ICT.
The State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak delivered his inaugural address at the program which was presided over by Rajshahi District Commissioner Shamim Ahmed.
Referring to Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the shaper of Digital Bangladesh, The State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that ICT is the biggest sector behind the development of Bangladesh today. A silent revolution has taken place in the country’s ICT sector. Currently, Bangladesh’s income from this sector is $1.5 billion. The mastermind behind it is Sajeeb Wazed Joy. Our goal is to create 1 million freelancers by 2025.
Sajib Wazed Joy is working relentlessly under the guidance of the Prime Minister. The prime minister has set a target to make Bangladesh developed and smart by 2041 and make the people IT-skilled human resources. And that goal will be fulfilled, in sha Allah.
