One of the most popular social media platforms is soon going to add calling feature to Twitter. Besides, the facility of sending encrypted messages will also be added to the platform. Twitter CEO Elon Musk said this on Tuesday. Apart from this, there are also plans to add some new facilities.
According to news agency Reuters, after buying Twitter last year, Elon Musk presented a plan called ‘Twitter-2.0 the everything app’. Where he envisioned, this single app will have all the benefits. There he wanted to add a system for mass tweeting, direct messaging and payments directly from Twitter.
Regarding the two new features or facilities, Musk wrote in a tweet on Tuesday, ‘Soon you will be able to talk directly from this platform to anyone in any part of the world without a phone number in a direct audio or video call.’
The addition of the calling feature will bring Twitter in line with other popular social media platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram. These apps also have direct calling facility.
Musk said that the facility of sending direct messages will be launched from next Wednesday. However, Musk did not say anything about when the facility of direct audio-video calling will be launched.
