Networks are the backbone of smart services of the fourth industrial revolution-4IR. Due to practical differences, fourth and fifth generation networks will roam equally in Society 5.0. At the time, 53 percent of Huawei’s workforce was working in research and development to lead network services. Among them, Huawei South Asia is conducting business from Bangladesh with special importance to Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bangladesh. New services are being invented through research and development to meet local needs. Last year only 25.1 percent of the total income was invested in research and development.
In addition to providing specialized services to keep the network quality intact in a dense network like old Dhaka, at Biswa Ijtema in Tongi, this time the new solution Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) of fixed wireless technology is going to bring the 5G mobile network system within reach of the user for commercial needs. In addition to this, Huawei Bangladesh is holding a knowledge sharing session throughout this month on cloud, energy efficient and smart technology business friendly network solutions.
Principal Marketing Manager of Huawei’s South Asia Office SM Nazmul Hasan and Head of Media Tanveer Ahmed held a media session at Huawei Bangladesh Academy at Gulshan of the capital on Monday with the media workers of ICT and Telecom sectors.
In this seminar entitled ‘Guide to the Intelligent Bangladesh’ many new innovations and solutions relevant to Bangladesh are discussed. It is informed that this workshop will continue throughout the month of May with the participation of ICT and telecom sector partners. The seminar will highlight Huawei’s new Sustainability Guide (GUIDE), which covers: Gigaverse Initiative, Ultra-Automation Speedup, Intelligent Computing and Network as a Service, Differentiated Experience on Demand, and Environmental, Social and Governance.
Speaking on the occasion, Huawei South Asia Marketing Manager SM Nazmul Hasan said, “Digital technology now plays a very important role in conducting daily activities in various sectors. Therefore, we need to seize that opportunity by identifying the right technological solutions to ensure sustainable development and accelerate digital transformation. Innovation is Huawei’s driving force. More than half of our employees are engaged in research and development (R&D). A major portion of our investment is spent on research and development. In 2022 alone, 25.1 percent of our revenue (about Tk. 250,000 crore) has been invested in research and development. Besides, we have gained extensive experience using our solutions in various projects around the world. It is also very important for the ecosystem of Bangladesh. We believe that exchange of ideas in the field of new innovations and advancement of the sector will play a helpful role in the transformation of our country and enriching the country. Through this, we will go a little further towards the implementation of the goal of Smart Bangladesh.”
On the other hand, Tanveer Ahmed said that guests from various sectors will be invited to the event to inform about Huawei’s research and development and solutions. Guests will visit the event at pre-arranged times and get hands-on experience from Huawei experts.
Huawei won four awards at MWC Barcelona 2023 for Glomo for Best Mobile Innovation for Emerging Markets, 5G Industry Challenge, Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough and Best Mobile Network Infrastructure.
