The gas leakage situation has normalized in various areas including Tejturi Para, Moghbazar, Green Road, Mohakhali, Azimpur, Dhanmondi, Malibagh, Bashundhara and Badda in the capital. As a result, there is no problem in lighting the stoves from now on.
The Titas Gas Managing Director (MD) Harunur Rashid Mollah gave this assurance on Tuesday morning. He requested not to panic over the situation.
He clarified that there were problems in some areas. It has been resolved. Now the situation is normal.
He also said that the smell in the gas is given for safety. So that the smell comes out in case of leakage. We fixed everything.
Titas Gas Deputy General Manager (DGM) Shakhawat Hossain said that the problem caused by over-flow of gas in transmission and distribution lines has been resolved.
Earlier last night, the Ministry of Electricity, Energy and Mineral Resources stated the reason for the spread of gas smell. In a Facebook post after 12 midnight, the ministry said, “As the gas supply to the industrial plant was stopped on Eid, the gas pressure increased in the transmission and distribution lines (over-flow) and the smell was coming out.”
In this incident, many people did not light the stove last night because of fear. Many people kept the gas main switch off for fear of accidents. As a result, on Tuesday (April 25), many homes in many areas started the morning without gas. For this, Titas Gas authority confirmed that there was no further problem. Now the stoves can be in function.
