The State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak distributed Eid gifts worth Tk. 4 million to 4000 families of his constituency in four days saving the cost of Iftar. The gifts included a chicken and cash of Tk. 100 each.
On the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr, the state minister concluded the program of distribution of Eid greetings and food items at his residence in Singra, Natore on Friday (April 21).
At that time, he said that apart from distribution of these gifts on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, 4 thousand VGF cards were distributed to every union in Singra. 10 kg of rice has been given through this card. However, it was not possible to meet those needs.
He said, I have tried my best. Even so, if we cannot fulfill your demands in some cases, please bear with us patiently. Because we are not responsible for the market price. It is a global problem.
Palak also said, I may have many mistakes. Sometimes I can’t fulfill your requests. Even so, with the help of the Prime Minister, we are able to provide houses to 2033 homeless people in our area. 1600 people have already gone home. In two-three months, you will get 350 more people. Everyone who remains will have this paved house by 2033.
Physically challenged Azhar and homeless Jahanara, who passed SSC by writing, were present at the event. He personally handed over gifts to each of the poor people present.
Earlier, at the gift distribution ceremony at the Municipal Community Center premises, the ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that Sheikh Hasina is working to improve the fate of poor people. She is working on making Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla and Smart Bangladesh to make Bangladesh hunger and poverty free. Today, the country is a role model for development under the honest, courageous and visionary leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
Advocate Ohidur Rahman, President of Singra Upazila Awami League, Joint General Secretary Ruhul Amin, President of Singra Municipal Awami League Dalim Ahmed, General Secretary Sajjad Hossain were present in the food distribution ceremony.
